Back-to-School Basics

Having everything your child needs for a successful school year will ensure a smooth transition from summer to the classroom. Depending on your child’s age, keep the following school supply list in mind for your back-to-school shopping—from the essential everyday items to the supplies needed for that upcoming science fair project.

Backpack

A tried-and-true essential, your child’s backpack will be with them every step of the way this school year. Picking a backpack that fits their style and needs will help make going back to school a little easier. Be sure to choose the correct size for their age. 

Lunch Box

To complement their new backpack, a personalized lunch box will set them up for success for the new school year. Be sure to get plenty of food storage containers to make packing their lunch a breeze.

Water Bottle

Every lunch box needs a matching water bottle! Let them pick out their favorite pattern or print, and be sure to monogram it with their name so it never gets lost. 

Pencil Case

Remember when you were in school and had your favorite pens and pencils? Be sure they always have a place to put theirs with their very own pencil case so they’re ready when creativity strikes.

Desk and Chair

Whether they’re learning virtually or just need a designated place to do homework, a desk and chair setup in their bedroom will set the stage for a productive study session. Pair with a desk lamp to ensure they have ample lighting. 

Sports Bag

Whether they’re an aspiring ballet dancer or they just love kicking around a soccer ball with their friends, sports are a valuable part of many kids’ childhoods. Make sure they have everything they need for practice with a designated sports bag
