Reworking a space for two children is always a challenge, but it was one Chriselle Lim was ready to take on! The entrepreneur, podcast host and adored fashion influencer put her styling skills to the test when she set her sights on creating the perfect bedroom for her daughters. The goal was a playful, serene space filled with joy.
When she started, Lim knew the room needed to be safe, fun and, above all, functional. "I didn’t have a specific theme or look. I just knew that I wanted to create a vibrant yet neutral space. In my mind this allows for greater decorative freedom to transform the room later down the line," said Lim. For inspiration, a personal notebook came in handy to document her ideas whenever they came to her. Once Lim began looking at furniture, the space started coming together.

"Safety and practicality were the most important factors for me. That helped create a space that’s comfortable for my girls to play, learn and sleep in," said Lim. Selecting furniture pieces that were sleek, chic and able to add to the ease of their everyday lives was a top priority. "I was very excited about the safe, high-quality and beautifully crafted furniture and products that Pottery Barn Kids is known for," she added.

When it came time to make the final selections, Lim enlisted her daughters for help. "My girls are very vocal about the things they like. I made sure to surround them with items they love," she said. Ensuring that both personalities were represented in the space was made easy with decor that felt unique to them and toys that fostered creativity, like the Chelsea All-in-1 Kitchen. To give each of them a comforting sleep space all their own, the family selected the Belden Full Loft & Twin Bed Set. Lim also sprinkled in stylish storage baskets to keep everything organized and a shared Scallop Pinboard they could help decorate together.

It turned out better than I expected," said Lim. When asked what her favorite piece turned out to be, it was a tough question to answer. "It’s hard to say because I truly love every single piece but if I can only choose one, it would be the Carolina Play Table and Chairs. I love to see my girls sit together, Colette creating art while Chloe is doing homework. They are united yet have their own space."
